Oh, and did i mention. . .

Here's a little background info about my new client for my next Interior Design II project:

As the CEO of the British-based music publisher RPM, that represents the work of such unique music talents as My Morning Jacket, Feist, Iron & Wine, Modest Mouse, Adele and Radiohead—Sarena Paxon intimately understands the convergence of creativity and commerce at the core of the business she shepherds. "Ours is a rarefied business," Paxon says. "If you think of great music—what is it? It's a wonderfully written song that's brilliantly performed, but it's also valuable intellectual property."

My mission as the designer:

Paxon has requested a workspace that presents the feeling of a
sophisticated lounge or club. Instead of incorporating bold color or offbeat design devices, - infuse character and interest with a carefully developed palette of materials that add warmth, texture, and richness to the space. She wants you to work with the exposed brick walls, vaulted ceilings, and castiron columns of the original structure.

To support the various facets of RPM’s business, Paxon wants you to develop a floor plan that would divide the employees into distinct groups with logical adjacencies. "Treat the space as an urban landscape, and define neighborhoods for each group and their different needs, such as the creative group, which blasts music all day long, versus the copyright and royalty department, which spend their time poring through legal documents."

Looks to me like ill be listening to some GREAT music over the next 3 weeks!
