My Newest Project:

I really need this transformation. Too much of my young adult life occurred in that room the way that it is. Hopefully a fresh coat of paint, and some new lights well help me close that part of my life, and open new doors to adulthood.
Oh goodness, and 20 isnt even THAT adult.
it just... needs to be done.

Dedication

I'll show you where the birds nest

I'm finally done with all of my drawings, and each one has been beautifully hand rendered. Norman came over and personally told me how freaking AWESOME they look, so I'm pretty stoked on that. Take a quick peak and let me know what you think. I'll be posting screenshots of the final two boards tomorrow as I complete them so wish me luck, and enjoy!

thats sketch...

Last post of the day, i hope. For your sake more than mine. I am just really getting into all of the projects i am working on lately. It's a good thing, you should be happy for me!
Here are a few concepts for a small house i am designing for my AutoCAD class. Preliminary Plans will probably appear on here sometime next week!

If you cant tell, i have a weak spot for geometric lines, and contrasting organic shapes. Call me crazy, but it might be a little compulsive. Like how everything i own has its place, architecture is much like that as well.

From Concept to Completion

OK. i know, im probably going blog crazy, but hey, look at all these wonders you have stumbled upon! and its only 11AM! [you're so very welcome ;) ]

but here are a few sketches i developed today in class:
and here is what i developed using Adobe:InDesign

Impressive, eh?

but seriously... i seriously need to be this productive ALL the time!

Organic Bedding?

What's This?
I'm already obsessed!

Amenity

Building HOPE

It's the beginning of class, and i have a very long day ahead of me.

ID graphics: we are working on way finding sign design. Maps, signage, directories, and such.
so heres what i have:
its totally a work in progress, and will probably change a LOT before the end of class, but its an idea of something i'm working on other than that pied- a-terre :)

Enjoy, and happy thursday!

Color Blind, if only for a moment.

First off... welcome to my kitchen table! (Or the mess i would like to call my 'work station'.) Considering the desk and chair i was given have been such a sad excuse for a working surface of any type. (Curse Student Housing for that one...) Anyways, As obsessive as i can be about keeping things organized, I kinda let loose when im deep in progress.

The pied-a-terre is going well, thank you for asking. The floorplan is a little bare at this moment, but i have all the base walls, its going to be furniture placement that will complicate everything. Rooms [starting at the top right, clockwise] Primary Living Area, Kitchen, Aux, Entry, Powder Room, Master Bathroom, Toilet/Bidet Closet, Primary Sleeping Area.

As for samples, im sure i have a few more to gather. The lady at JoAnns was a little stingy, and wouldn't even give me the good pieces. If Norman really likes what i have, ill just go back and buy a chunk of some of the fabrics that were more than perfect for this assignment.

Anyways, these photos were brought to you by my wonderful iPhone, so i removed all the color to avoid having to deal with poor color quality.

More to come, as things are starting to move along quite nice. :)

Until then..

Robbin's Eggs and Branches Reaching.

so ... scratch all of that.

after sitting on my concept for a few days i decided that i needed to reinvent my idea. instead of a country nest, im doing a nest in the big city. mixing extremely modern lines and geometry with the organic lines of branches. i thought that perhaps having bookshelves flowing into and out of the room would add a slight sense of the concept without being overpowering.

I found these by WOKmedia and i swooned

oh and i found the perfect bathtub. its all egg shaped and stuff.

so the project is well under way and i am so happy to be reporting this!
thank goodness.

I know why the caged bird sings.

So for my "Pied-a-terre" project [a small second apartment or temporary home] , im really thinking something organic. Eclectic even. I spoke with Norman about my concept, and he really challenged the... straight forwardness of my idea. I need to abstract my design a bit from my concept statement. I really wanted to focus on bird cages, and the idea of coming to and from a nest freely. Problem is, i just keep falling in love with Tree based furniture and accessories. I mean, who wouldnt love to fall asleep under this:

It's been quite some time

But here i am, one HUGE project into my Sophomore Year at Ringling, and i couldn't be happier!

We were asked to design a dental office, Nothing too big, just a beginners office.
Im not going to brag about all the technicalities and needs i have had to meet for this project, there are far too many, but here we are, my first real ID project

So... theres that, nothing too EPIC, but im extremely happy with how it turned out! Our next project, I believe, will be a corporate hotel suite. Dandy... lets see how that goes!

Ill keep this thing updated with all my work business, nonsense stuff. So keep checking back!
